The art circle | A monthly art group starting September 15th
The Art Circle
A relaxed, guided art experience for beginners through to intermediate artists, held in the beautiful Hinterland Massage + Movement space in Kenilworth.
I’m so excited to be collaborating with the amazing Hinterland Massage + Movement. It’s such a beautiful, welcoming space to create in, and I can’t wait to share it with you.
A little about The Art Circle
The Art Circle is an ongoing monthly art class held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month, 6:00–7:30pm.
Our first four-month series begins 15 September and explores Australian botanicals, taking you through four different mediums and building your skills along the way.
Bookings in advance are essential — places are limited.
Month 1 — Graphite
Tuesday 15 September | 6:00–7:30pm
Drawing Fundamentals
We’ll begin with graphite, learning how to build an image from simple shapes and create depth and form through values. You’ll learn how to use your graphite pencils to develop light, mid-tones and darks and create a finished botanical drawing.
Month 2 — Charcoal
Tuesday 20 October | 6:00–7:30pm
Charcoal Drawing Fundamentals
Discover the fabulous versatility of charcoal. We’ll explore how to apply and build charcoal, create strong lights and darks, and use your eraser as a drawing tool to lift highlights and create form.
Month 3 — Watercolour
Tuesday 17 November | 6:00–7:30pm
Colour & Flow
Building on the drawing skills from the first two months, we’ll introduce the beautiful, fluid medium of watercolour. We’ll explore wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry and lifting techniques, along with a little colour theory, as we create our Australian botanical artwork.
Month 4 — Mixed Media
Tuesday 15 December | 6:00–7:30pm
Bringing It All Together
For our final month, we’ll combine the techniques we’ve explored throughout the series. Graphite, charcoal and watercolour come together to create a more layered and impactful piece.
Who is it for?
Beginner to intermediate artists.
My classes are designed to cater to different experience levels. Whether you’re picking up a pencil for the first time or already have some experience, I’ll guide you through the process step by step while helping you develop your own artistic style.
What can you expect?
Each class may look a little different depending on the medium, but the process commonly flows like this:
Introduction → Technique → Demonstration → Step-by-step artwork → Individual guidance
We’ll begin with a clear introduction to the medium so you feel confident from the start. You’ll work through a technique sheet to learn how the medium behaves, then I’ll demonstrate the artwork step by step for you to follow along with.
You’ll learn practical fundamental skills that you can take home and continue using in your own artwork.
What’s Included?
All art materials supplied
Step-by-step instruction
Technique sheets to take home
Your finished artwork to take home
Tea and coffee
Nibbles and grazing platters from Kenilworth Dairy
Where?
Hinterland Massage + Movement
10A Elizabeth Street

A little about your instructor
Hi! I’m Cassie - although “Teach” is what I’ve apparently become known as in class, thanks to my students’ banter. ❤️
I’ve been surrounded by art my whole life. I grew up learning from my artist father, watching him paint murals and sketch our family.
I later studied fashion design and visual arts, building strong foundations in art and design. Over time, though, I realised I needed to reconnect with why I create. That journey taught me to let go of perfection, embrace my own style and, eventually, discover that teaching is where my heart really lies.
I’ve been teaching fine art for over five years, and what I love most is helping people build their skills while still allowing their own artistic voice to shine.
My approach is simple: I’ll teach you the techniques and guide you through the process, but your artwork should still feel like yours.
What do I need to bring?
Just bring yourself!
All art materials are supplied. Come ready to learn, create and enjoy a little time for yourself.
